Pressure Sore Prevention
Mankowski Industrial develops mechanical systems designed to address the root cause of pressure sore formation: sustained tissue loading without adequate recovery. Our work focuses on deterministic unloading strategies intended to prevent the development of decubitus ulcers and, in appropriate applications, support the recovery of compromised tissue.
These systems are engineered as manufacturable medical devices, emphasizing mechanical reliability, clinical practicality, and cost-effective production at scale. The designs are the result of years of iterative development and testing, informed by real-world use constraints rather than theoretical models alone.
